Fall plowed garden

This week I plowed my weedy garden with the Bolens 1050. Today I spread a bunch of last fall's leaves and 12-12-12 fertilizer and smoothed it. It's my idea of fun.

That is a cool tractor with the duals on. How many hp is it ? I have a pep p pal I have thought about repowering the original engine is way underpowered

This week I also "screeded off" a plot at church where soil was hauled in. Did a good job of smoothing and leveling in "3rd gear" a brisk walking pace. I was asked the same question, how much h.p.? Far as I know it's still the original 5 h.p. (unless it's been bored oversize by the previous owner). A few years back I took it to a plow day, plowed in 3rd gear and there again was asked about h.p.

I'm confused. Tractor Data.com says Bolens 1050 is a 10hp garden/lawn tractor. Also, I've never applied fertilizer in the fall to bare ground. But, I have applied fertilizer 4-16-16 to a lawn in September to prep it for winter survival. Please enlighten me.

Looks like a Simplicty Model V. I have the same one. Lot's of fun. 8HP, very strong. Can bury the 10" single bottom plow and run all day long.

I had a lot of half rotted leaves from a year ago and other compost I moldboard plowed under (somewhat at least) with the Bolens. Then used the walk behind as in the pictures. The triple 12 is to help break down the leaves- and weeds.

John the 1050 is a tractor... gtractorfan used it before taking his first pic... he just didnt include the tractor in the pic;)
