Here's a poor man's way of getting a garden tractor up to a comfortable work level. After driving up onto the trailer I rolled it back onto the boards - without me on it. Makes it nice to wash and wax and grease the deck while it's up there. The trailer has stands on the back and the boards hook on.

One thing I would add to your good idea. I would add a 2x4 to the qrear as a brace and a stop. Use a couple of wing nuts on the bolts so you can take it apart if you wish. Makes everything more stable and stronger.

Thanks for your idea. Could use C clamps or extended vice grips. I got the stands recently at a flea market, they've been very handy (such as setting up a portable table).

It's fun being older and hatching ideas and sometimes they work. I'm working on another one, picture when it's done.

Just remember that thing over your head is almost 600 pounds. Found that out one time with an old troy pony that slipped sideways. Lucked out and it only partially fell. Just use a little caution.
