The 102 is part of the 1X2/3 Series and used the same seat I previously mention. The exception was the entry model 71 of that series, that used a metal pan seat.

(A) NO, I am not a collector of IH lawn mowers but I am a collector of IH Cub Cadet Garden Tractors.
(B) The picture came from the actual IH Cub Cadet Sales Brochure of that time which featured the 1x2/3 Series Garden Tractors.
(C) I have answered your question. But, I will again. The image I posted, was a seat that was used on Cub Cadet models: 102, 122, and 123.
(D) " [i:3b355de44f]don't mind posting a question on this great web site with an open mind to everyone's answers, but for some reason a certain amount of people reply to questions without any back up[/i:3b355de44f]" I disagree, I backed my comments up with actual IH Cub Cadet published material. Further, I can back up my comments with data from the Parts Manual(s), either in paper or the Cub Cadet Parts Look-up Site.

(F) The pictures you posted can be obtained anywhere and/or photoshoped by anyone.
(G) It is your time, your money, your tractor and you can do as you see fit. All I did was supply you with correct and accurate information. You can take the information I supplied or not. Beyond that, I don't care what you do with your tractor
it might have been a serial number break or lack of
inventory from a supplier that there is possibly 2
different kinds of seats for theses garden tractors

UH ...No. The Parts manual does NOT support your theory.
(quoted from post at 23:58:14 08/31/18) sorry, i missed out on who you were asking about what the seat was off of.
i thought i posted it on the bottom of my top pictures.
i took the seat off a 122 garden tractor.
the machine is completely original.
it has a blown motor, and bad steering box.
im wrecking it.
es, I read that it came to you on your 122, but then one tells us that is the wrong factory seat for a 122, 102 or 123.
But will not or can not tell us what model the rubber seat was used on by the factory. Maybe he thinks on none, but he does not say that.
