Hi I am tearing down a ih 122 garden tractor
For another project and removed a seat that looks
original
It is in real nice shape for its age
Any one interested can email me for more info
I would like to see it go into a restored tractor if
needed

That does NOT look like a OEM Cub Cadet seat for the 122. Here is the seat Cub Cadet used on the 1x2/3 Series Tractors.

my mistake on the model number of the tractor.
A well known international collector pointed it out for me.
it belongs to a IH 102 garden tractor.
and it is an original excellent condition seat.
any one interested can send me an email.

The 102 is part of the 1X2/3 Series and used the same seat I previously mention. The exception was the entry model 71 of that series, that used a metal pan seat.

So what Cub Cadet DID that seat come on?

dear R Bedell
are you a collector of ih lawnmowers??
its seems you have vast knowledge of the seat i have and that it DOES NOT fit onto a IH 102 or 122 garden tractor. you have shown one picture of what you think the seat should
look like but when I google ih 102 garden tractors SEVERAL show up in unbelievable original condition wearing the seat I have pictured.
myself as well as another curious person who has replied has asked you what cub tractor did the seat come on and we are waiting for a reply back from you.
I dont mind posting a question on this great web site with an open mind to everyones answers, but for some reason a certain amount of people reply to questions without any back up
proof or down right thinking at all.
after you have done your research please reply back with something informative or keep your fingers off the key board.

(A) NO, I am not a collector of IH lawn mowers but I am a collector of IH Cub Cadet Garden Tractors.

(B) The picture came from the actual IH Cub Cadet Sales Brochure of that time which featured the 1x2/3 Series Garden Tractors.

(C) I have answered your question. But, I will again. The image I posted, was a seat that was used on Cub Cadet models: 102, 122, and 123.

(D) " [i:e94619a75d]don't mind posting a question on this great web site with an open mind to everyone's answers, but for some reason a certain amount of people reply to questions without any back up[/i:e94619a75d]" I disagree, I backed my comments up with actual IH Cub Cadet published material. Further, I can back up my comments with data from the Parts Manual(s), either in paper or the Cub Cadet Parts Look-up Site.

(E) I am the owner/admin of [b:e94619a75d]www.onlycubcadets.net[/b:e94619a75d] since 2007, if you question my knowledge or experience.

(F) The pictures you posted can be obtained anywhere and/or photoshoped by anyone.

(G) It is your time, your money, your tractor and you can do as you see fit. All I did was supply you with correct and accurate information. You can take the information I supplied or not. Beyond that, I don't care what you do with your tractor

LOL, and so what that O.P.'s rubber seat was used on originally is still a mystery!!!!

Here is a picture of a 102 from the snowthrower manual from IH:

And this snip is from the 102 operators manual:
Top tractor is the 122, bottom tractor is a 102.
Maybe both seats were installed on 102's, perhaps during production there was a shortage of the fiberglass seats.
And the 102 was elected to receive the substitutes.
Or maybe IH changed from one seat to the other at some point in the 102's model run?

Double 07
That is what I have accounted for with this ad
Thank you for your input to my post
It might have been a serial number break or lack of
inventory from a supplier that there is possibly 2
different kinds of seats for theses garden tractors
I myself would choose this rubber seat I have for a
restoration it does not seem to have cracked at all
Must be made of good material to stand up to the
time and weather
I will put it up on a shelf and use it for trading
material if someone has anything Jd to trade me
Thanks again for your research and have fun

UH ...No. The Parts manual does NOT support your theory.

What was installed onto the tractor at the factory is one thing.
What you get when you order a replacement seat is another.
Even if your parts book was printed by IH before they went under.

P.S. CubCadet.com as well as PartsTree.com shows the rubber seat for the 102 and a modern 127 style black seat for the 122.
Which had the fiberglass seat from the factory.

How about you show us this sales brochure that you speak of that shows a 102 with the fiberglass and poly cover used on the 122 and 123.

You still have not told us what model the rubber seat came on.
Perhaps you do not know?

sorry, i missed out on who you were asking about what the seat was off of.
i thought i posted it on the bottom of my top pictures.
i took the seat off a 122 garden tractor.
the machine is completely original.
it has a blown motor, and bad steering box.
im wrecking it.

Yes, I read that it came to you on your 122, but then one tells us that is the wrong factory seat for a 122, 102 or 123.

But will not or can not tell us what model the rubber seat was used on by the factory. Maybe he thinks on none, but he does not say that.

I posted factory produced photographic evidence from IH showing the rubber seat on a 102.

So now we can either go with photographic evidence from IH, and your collector friend or we can take someones word that the rubber seat was not factory installed on a 102. Because they have a sales brochure that shows the fiberglass seat on a 102, but does not post the image of it here.

ROTF....LMAO..

This topic is getting to be a trivial and "nit picking" postings.

As I said before, it is his tractor, his time, his beliefs, and his money. He can do what ever the hell he wants.

I've got no dog in this fight, but here's a picture of a 102 I owned several years ago. If the seat on it looks like a replacement, it's not. I scrubbed it till it looked like that. It was in really nice shape.
