I have an old Dayton rear tine tiller. It has an 8hp briggs horizontal shaft, 5 speed transmission, reverse, adjustable handle, and a lever on each side low. 1 for tine engage and 1 for wheel engage. it uses two belts, one short one from motor pulley, and a longer one that controls speed and reverse. problem is, I need belts and the model # tag is completely unreadable. I don't know if the short belt needs to be tight at closest spot or how loose. the pulley it goes around slides back and forth tightening and loosening the belt. the way it looks, when the front belt is loose, it tightens the longer belt and when it is tight it loosens the longer belt. any ideas?
