Repower suggestions

I have a MF7 tractor I'd like to repower to give the grandkids something to ride around on. The Tecumseh needs a lot of work and I really don't like Tecumsehs anyway, so looking at options. Are those chinese clones any good? Or just go with a Briggs (though I think most of them in that size range are chinese anyway). And what is it about the horsepower now days? They won't put horsepower spec in the description, was some sort of lawsuit about it. I don't have a comparison for the "new" CC or torque values. Thanks for any suggestions.

If it is just for the g-kids to ride around on, an HF engine will be fine. I have a couple of them on seasonally used equipment, and they have served me well. Keep the oil changes and use Sta-bil year round.

I have BS and I have 2 clones. Very well designed, constructed, and thought out. You'll find amenities on the clones that don't exist on domestic designs......oriental mindset diversity that came here with Toyota and Datsun. Took them to teach Detroit how to treat it's customers!!!!!!!!!!
