Thirty some years ago, when I had a sidewalk, the one I had worked ok. Had to keep the belt tight.

I have one made by MTD. I've had it for over 25 years. I just finished edging my driveway and sidewalks. It does a nice job and it's quick.

PS by the way Hal I tried my sleeve hitch hiller this AM boy did that work nice to plant the spuds etc.

That's the reason I kept that black furrower/hiller when I sold the black tiller. Someone from AZ commented it would just make a furrow deep enough to cover the eyes. I had a thought of telling him I'm not planting in sand or concrete.

When I grew a lot of potatoes I used the same moldboard plow to make furrows that I used to plow the garden. I also removed the tire chain on the right side and used the same plow to cover the seed. Most of the time I used a garden rake to cove the seed. That sleeve hitch works pretty good. I made an H hitch so I could use the sleeve hitch for pulling the log splitter with a ball hitch on one side and my trailer on the other side for hauling wood. I'll see if I can find a picture. Hal

I use to make those edger blades at work. I used 1/8 or 5/32 steel and sheared a 4 foot long piece that was 1.5" wide and then sheared them 9 inches long. Used a hydraulic punch to punch a 5/8" hole. Sure miss those fringe benefits. Hal

Google Edger-rite, by turfco. It's a one armed sod cutter setup, used on golf courses, to trim around sand traps, Ir you get one at a golf auction, they are a good deal. They make 5 different blades for it, My favorite is the U shaped blade, which cuts a 1" ribbon of sod, away from your concrete sidewalk or driveway. If you have asphalt, the best thing is a gas powered weed-eater, as there is no real edge, to asphalt!
