have a JD 175 with a Kawasaki engine,battery slowly goes down when running it,battery is new,checked for obvious problems on the harness,no drain when parked with the key off,when running with a fully charged battery I have volt reading of about 11 volts at the battery.Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You may have a bad stator if that engine has one.
They would use a rectifier/regulator if it has a stator and you could check the Ac voltage at the regulator should see about 30 volts ac. If this voltage looks ok its probably your regulator and it may be draining the battery. Hal

With eng running full throttle measure AC voltage from alt stator,should be 34-35v,after that with eng still running full throttle,measure voltage at RED wire on regulator,should be 14-14.5v DC,next measure voltage at battery terminal of starter sol,if there's a difference in voltage between reg term & sol term,follow red wire off reg back thru wiring harness,kawasaki usually puts a fuse on output of alt,this fuse may be blown,if you need a wiring diagram of tractor do a goggle search for john deere 175+wiring diagram,click on wiring diag,should be 1st link.
