Found this little unit. What did the guy want for it? Two meatball subs. So I said yes. Does any one recognize how old it might be? The numbers were on a decal that is totally faded out. Has a 5 horse Briggs in it.Wanna try to bring it back to life. Any info about this unit would be great.

I remember Dad had one when I was a kid. There
were many of these rigs that looked the same, but
had different names stenciled on them. I'm
thinking he got his around 1966-67. Might have
been a year or so earlier. All had the 5 hp engine
like yours, with a pull start only. Seems like it
had a height adjustment with a threaded crank. I'm
not sure on that. His had a 3 speed transmission
with reverse. Others I remember had a Forward,
Neutral, and Reverse. Maybe a 36" mower. Just too
long ago... Hope this helps a little.

Yeah thats great. Any info at all is appreciated. This one looks like forward, neutral and reverse only. It has several different holes to bolt the wheels into for height adjustment. I kinda think Eaton's was a Canadian only store chain, not sure though. Says made in USA on the hood. Wonder who made this thing. Gonna need one front wheel as it has a crack clean across right down to the metal.(frt tires are non pneumatic)

There was a time I wouldn't have given one of these little things a second glance. However, I am beginning to realize they are an important part of lawn tractor history. It is quite obvious when one looks closely, they are pretty much a transitional phase between the self-propelled push mower and the rider.
Besides, some, like this one are "cute lil' buggers"!! I like the fact that this one has a real steering wheel rather than a tiller or "half-a-wheel.
