Howdy all! I'm trying to find out information on this tractor we inherited. It is a Ford LGT 100. My DH got some model/serial/"spec." #'s off of it, but they seem to apply mainly to the engine. It's blue, which appears to be standard, though faded, has a Kohler engine, and also has a deck attachment. It looks, to me at least, to be an older tractor, though I am truly tractor-illiterate. I am hoping that someone can help me. I do have pics to share, which I am sure are needed for proper i.d., but 1) I wasn't sure of my ability (read: permission to the newbie) to post any, and 2) I am totally unsure how to get them up here if I am allowed. Any and all info I receive will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to look!

[b:e1c60ce222]Now:[/b:e1c60ce222] Sean in PA was very kind and gave me a few specifics on it and on how to post pics. Please let me know if anyone needs to see them for further informational purposes. Also, my hubby wants to sell it/part it out. Is there a market for this? Were they truly only manufactured in the early 1980's? (This one sure looks old! lol But, as I said, I am tractor-illiterate. Very!)

Thank you all in advance for your reading and your info (and putting up with my lack of knowledge).

Have a great day!

I'm just learning about the LGT's myself, as I've bought a couple in need of work. Does yours look like the one in this pic? (borrowed this from the gallery at left - not mine) If it does, it's a '60's (or maybe early '70's) model. There is a fair demand for them, either as working or repairable units, or as parts. Personally, I like to see the old iron kept as a whole unit when possable. Could try the classifieds here, or craigslist or ebay. There's also a Yahoo group devoted specifically to the Ford and Jacobson LGT's. I just joined that a few days ago, and there seems to be a lot of knowledge there.

Hi Fordfarmer, and thanks for the reply. I only WISH this one looked that good! lol Here's one pic of ours ...

I have more, but I don't want to overload anyone! lol

DH wants to sell it, though I don't. It was his father's. I'd love to see it up and running and in use around our place - though we've lived here 14 years, we've just begun trying to do things with our blessings. We've a LOOOONG way to go, though. And as for repair/restoration, neither of us is mechanically inclined. This one seems to have only come with the deck. Are there other attachments/uses for it that you've discovered? My online searches have netted very, very little information.

Thanks!

I think that is the best looking series of LGT's that Ford had. That one was made in the '70's... I'm not sure what year they started that series, but they were built through '76. The mower deck is the most common attachment, but they built a lot of attachments for them... snow blowers, tillers, front plow/blade, a 3-point hitch and implements to fit, even loaders and backhoes for the bigger models. Sales brochures show up on ebay fairly regularly... might be able to see enough in the pics there without buying to get an idea what was available.

The '70's ... cool. Thanks for the tip on trying ebay for "viewing". I never would have thought of looking there for info. :) Maybe I'll get lucky and find other info too! That would be nice. I keep ending up with stuff for LGT's that are much "newer" (definitely newer looking) than this one, and as I said, not much of that.

Well, off I go to do more research! Thanks for all your help, FF!

Have a great day! And if I come across anything else you might be able to help with, I'll be back! I'll also try to check out the Yahoo group, if I can get Yahoo to load in any decent amount of time. Being on dial-up makes loading some sites a trial!

Oh, and the classifieds here unfortunately only brought up one LGT 145. Probably my search cues, but maybe it's b/c those who have an LGT 100 REALLY like them. lol
