Got the deck off, finding rough spindle bearings.
The timed pulleys are tight. Is there a special bolt made to pull with?

Talked to dealer and they say no puller.

Any help appreciated. Tom

The link below will take you to the Ingersoll website and the PDF parts book for your RM60 deck.

You need to scroll down to PDF page 12 out of the 20 pages on offer. The exploded diagram will show you how the parts go together. The pulleys slide onto the spindle shafts but are fixed in place using a Woodruff or half-moon key. This means you cannot drive the spindle shaft down through the bearings because the key will prevent that from happening. Use penetrating oil on the shaft to try and loosen the pulley.

If you have a 3 jaw puller you can apply some pressure with it. Once the pulleys are all removed along with the Woodruff keys, the spindle shafts can be pushed out the bottom of the spindle mandrels. The bearing races can then be knocked out by using a long punch.

All parts should be thoroughly inspected, cleaned and de-burred prior to re-assembly. The spindles should be free of any rust. Coat the spindle shafts liberally with anti-seize compound prior to inserting them back into the mandrels and don't forget to put the spacer tube inbetween the bearings. When you tighten the locknut onto the spindle, it clamps everything together so that the spindle, inner bearing race, spacer tube and pulley all move together as a single unit.

You do not want the inner bearing race to spin on the spindle shaft or it will destroy it.
