Super Major lifters cam followers

Thanks for reading my post, I am in process of overhaul on 1963 super major serial number 08c952715. All going good until I received new lifters, they seem like old style according to IT manual. As you can see from picture they are shorter than original. What are your professional opinions on using these lifters. I of course will be using original pushrods and rockers. If I need to use longer style where would you suggest I find some? Thank you for your help

According to the original parts manual there was only one lifter (tappet) used from 1952 to end of production in 1964. There were different push rods and rockers though. I would suggest that your original is correct and the replacements not manufactured to the correct specifications.

Hi Majorman as soon as I had read the post my thoughts went to Agriline then I saw the picture of the parts I got out my Agriline book and they only list one cam follower part number 7081. I do buy parts from Agriline but nothing technical like engine parts. Last year I bought a bonnet kit for a Ferguson TEF20 and it was well made but when I started to assemble it I noticed the nuts and bolts were M6 metric but the holes in the bonnet were drilled for 1/4 inch bolts like the original bonnet. I assembled the new bonnet with 1/4 inch bolts and it fitted perfect on the tractor.I think the problem with a lot of their parts is their suppliers can only work in Metric measurements. MJ.

The problem is that most of the aftermarket parts that AgriLine and others supply come from (C)QTP. I and many others have been having trouble with this company for years now.

Whilst I was moderator on another Fordson site, Agriline wrote to me and asked why we were always complaining about their parts on line so we sent them all the problem reports we had had. They were pretty good and sorted most of the problems so I have a bit of time for them. They went to great lengths to sort out one problem, even going to the buyers home and viewed the problem before adjusting the parts for him and refitting them.

The other company, I have had so many problems with both on line and personal experience, I posted a comment a few weeks ago on a Nuffield tractor site and got so many comments about poor quality, it is obvious that they have done nothing to address their issues.

I have a set of Dexta steering box covers on my hands at the moment that are too big to fit in the space under the steering box. Not just a case of trimming a bit off either. My friend Fred had exactly the same problem, whoever made them or designed them had never been near a Dexta.

( C in the company name is silent) :0(

Happy Mew Year.
