Hi, all. Today I bought a non running Super Dexta 3 cyl diesel. The tires/rims were in good shape, and the price I gave for it was less than a set of rear tires, so I am not harmed if it is bad. The man I bought it from said it ran, but no fuel was going to the rear cylinder, thought the line was plugged. It was dark by the time I got it home, as well as drizzly, so i didnt mess with it after I unloaded it. I noticed that someone had bypassed the fuel pump running on only on gravity feed. My question is could/would the cylinder be damaged by it being ran without fuel.

The Super Dexta is a very good little tractor with very few
problems to watch for. The main one is the gear change levers can
jump out of the selectors if the bottom of the levers is worn.
They may just need a bit of building up with weld.

The Minimec injection pump is a robust and trouble free unit
providing the oil has been changed in the governor. Expect to see
diesel in there, that is normal.

Your problem could be due to the fact that the lift pump has been
disconnected and there is not enough fuel getting to the
injection pump, to work properly the injection pump needs a
pressure of between 3 and 7 psi from the lift pump. Another
problem may be you have a broken plunger spring. If you take the
side cover off you can check what is going on but make sure
everything is super clean around the area.

You will not damage the engine if one cylinder has not been
fuelled but, if Easy Start (ether) has been used it may be
damaged rings rather than injection pump problems.

Hi Majorman, I left a thank you a week ago, but i guess it didnt post, still havent got it started, rewiring it now.
