I have a Fordson Super Major 5000 with the Roadless 4WD and have broken the right front axle...{again} so therefore I need HELP!! The serial number on the Roadless unit is 2044 and i am wondering where I can get a long shaft assembly. I once spoke to John Bownes...is he still around?

They own the Roadless name and all spare parts and are still in business.

May also try ex-Army GM trucks as the early Roadless axles were taken from these and fitted by Selene in Italy. Selene then licenced Roadless to fit their axles and drop box.

If you can,t locate an axle and the break is a clean spiral / rotational break ,, Vee the crack at least 1/4 inch deep .. Then heat axle pieces hot. Use a piece of angle iron to clamp & hold axle pieces , Weld using 7018 rods. Go slowly and tack all along the crack in increments. ( move side to side )to keep axle pieces in alignment , then weld in several time phases. I,ve done this successfully twice with truck axles. Just a thought , in case axle is not available.
