Starter solenoid

I have a FMD with an original style starter which is only a few years old. I have replaced the solenoid as well. The solenoid sticks now and is getting to be more often than naught. It stops with a tap from a wrench. Is there any thing that can be done with it or just replace it?

Common problem caused by a weak battery so it gets hot and welds contact and yes only way to fix is replace it and make sure the battery is at full charge

Is there good contact between solenoid and tractor? Also is there good connection on battery posts also good ground connection

As the others said, check the earth and power but another point, did you put a car type solenoid on? There are two types of solenoid, a light duty one for cars and a heavy duty one. I was forever burning out solenoids until I discovered the heavy duty one, that has lasted, with no trouble for at least 25 years.
