Differential Oil Fill Plug with Vent Holes.

This summer I happened across two Fordson Major backhoes . On both of these tractors the Differential fill plug has two 1/16th in. holes ,I presume for air venting. Both were identical , in that the hole positions were 180 degrees & appear to have been punched rather than drilled. Second one I had the opportunity to remove the plug & see no signs of drill marks. Holes are so far out on the hex that if drilled there should have been marks inside the plug.. Very precise & smooth holes.
. I wonder if this was a modification when a Major was equipped with a back hoe.

(quoted from post at 19:34:16 08/17/21) I have the same on my FSM w/hoe

Cool eh?
Right on.. For sure these holes would allow venting. Since your Super Major has the same , equipped with a back hoe, the manufacturer must have advised useage & supplied them.. Thanks for the reply.. Brian B.
