Can a front hydraulic pump be put on a '52 gas Major? How difficult/expensive, etc.....??

Correction - It would need to be done on a Super Major, not my '52. Sorry about that!

You can, the size needed depends on the use.

Usually bolts on the front of the bolster with a drive shaft through the crank hole
then into a splined coupling that bolts on four holes in the front pulley. Something
tells me you have to replace the starting handle dog with a plain headed one but it is
many years since I fitted one.
