Fordson Power Major Tachometer runs fast

Hi all. I've bought (for some time ago) a new tachometer /RPM-meter for my Fordson Power Major and it was said to fit on Power Majors with vacuum regulated diesel injection pump.
Well, Yesterday I unboxed the beauty, hooked it up to the angled gear up front on my tractor, and into the panel under the steering-wheel. Fired up the tracor and were at once a bit pussled...At idle speed my Fordson is running at PTO-STD speed...Wow..That cannot be right at all..So, have any of you experienced this, and probably more important..How do I fix this? (The supplier claims that the 'meter is right, and should fit my Fordson with a vacuumregualted simms dieselinjection pump..)
Image of the instrument in question attched in message.

Thanks for any help and advices, Roger

Would think you have a faulty unit. All Power Majors were vacuum governed and drive from the right angle drive just in front of the pump drive coupling. Later Supers drove from the end of the injection pump.
