I understand Sherman backhoes mounted on Fordson Majors used a hydraulic pump located at and driven by pulley gearing.. on right side of tractor . Can anyone give me info. on this subject . Pictures would be helpful. I would like to install an aux. pump driven by pulley.. Also I believe the pulley had two speeds. Am I correct in saying that ? Looking forward to replies..

The pulley certainly has two speeds changed by the High/Low gear selector. It is also
started and stopped by the clutch.

Way back in the day we sold a hedge cutter which was a large sawblade type disc on an
arm and was driven by the pulley. Once you got it spinning, if you put your foot on the
clutch the inertia of the blade kept you moving forward and one customer cut down a
telegraph pole in the hedge because he could not stop the tractor.
