Fitting Cylinder Sleeves

Got the block for my FMD all cleaned up, ready to install the sleeves. Did a test fit up with two of them. The protrusion above the block is good, being within the .002-.004" spec. The od. of the flange is about .010" smaller than the countersink in the block. I can center them in place using four .005" brass shims. Should a sealer like Permatex be applied to the contersink prior to setting the sleeves? Thanks.

The liners should be a push fit into the block and no clearance around the rim. I would be very concerned if you can fit shims to centre the liner and would suspect they would be hammered by the vibration when she runs.

Are you sure you have the right liners? Could be from the "Land of Nearly Right".
