Proper coolant level for the Major?

still getting acquainted with our Major..

what is the proper level for coolant? should it be seen in the filler neck?
gauge does not appear to be working properly, so that is on the shopping list.

going to assume just the standard green stuff for coolant, yes?

Ethylene glycol (the green stuff) is correct. About 1/2 way up in the top radiator tank, when cold is about right. I wouldn't waste any
time repairing that coolant gauge, that and the oil pressure gauge are critical.

Thank you, SkipperII

Yeah, as a former truck driver, I like my gauges to be in working order, so yes, they are tops on the list, along with oil & filter changes.

well, I see a new temp gauge in the near future.. along with a new oil gauge and line..

this was after running the tractor for 3 - 3.5hrs solid.. mostly playing with the backhoe (higher revs) and some scraping of the driveway - looks pretty dead to me..
