Hi new to this forum I have bought a power steering kit from Agriline products for my 1957 fordson major unbelievably they cannot tell me what oil to put in does anybody know please

What condition are the stub axles and steering
joints also tyre pressure ?
How often is grease applied??
The reason I am asking is that I had a power major
From 1978 until 2000 and I greased the steering
Regularly and the steering was always ok

My Major, Henrietta, is a 1952 petrol/kerosene and I worked on Majors for many years. I have never found the need for power or power assisted steering on any of them except when you have a loader fitted. I can steer mine with one hand and I am not that strong. Grease and tyre pressure has a lot to do with ease of steering although I do agree that PAS helps to avoid "kickback" on rough ground.

Yes I take your point started this job the long way round replaced front stub axles new bronze bearings and have realised probably didn't need power steering but it does have a all loader has become a bit of a big job but have got round it
