OK, I am almost done with the restoration of my 1925 Fordson F that has an English made Model N engine. It has the impulse magneto conversion up front. I have the magneto manual, and both F & N operators manuals, and I still cant figure out how to do the engine timing. Right now the entire radiator has not been re-installed, so there is plenty of room. Cylinder 1 is now in the full up position. I am supposed to line up the magneto plate with the arrow in the up position, but there is no arrow on/in my magneto. Does the non existent arrow correspond to the rotor location, and, how do I access the timing gear, can I just remove the front timing cover, or is there a view hole somewhere that I don't know about. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Larry.
