1967 Ford 2000/3000 questions

I am curious if anybody has any thoughts on why my 1967 stamped D2000 7E_2 A153786 (behind starter) and the engine rail stamp begins LD (both indicating it's a 2000) has 3000 emblems on the hood? I have gathered I'm not the only owner of a 3000 at first glance that's actually a 2000 underneath (they all seem to be European built.) It made its way to southwest Missouri, where I recently bought it, but I don't know whether it came that way originally or somebody traded body parts out sometime. I'm sure knowing as many details as possible isn't that important, but I find it's all very interesting.

In European parlance (French), L stands for Legere, or Light. Indicates the smaller model. The 3000 would be N, for Normale, or Standard. The 7E_2 is the date code , year 7, month E (5th month)The underline, if it means not readable, could be 1 or 2., which indicates the day of the month, either 12th or 22nd.

I had the opposite problem. I had a tractor with a 6 speed transmission, but 3000 decals. I sold it as a 2000, but I later
found out that some 3000's came with six speeds. I was a recent Ford owner and I didn't know about the stamped model codes. (Before computer websites)

There is always the possibility that a 2000 engine has been fitted into a 3000. A visual indication of what model you have can be seen on the rear of the hydraulic lift. If the draft control spring is open, it is a 2000 with single acting draft control, if the spring is enclosed within a housing it is a 3000 with double acting draft control.

Way back in the day when the tractor was introduced here in England the 2000 had a six speed gearbox, single acting draft control, no flow control adjustment on the hydraulic lift and an all blue body work colour scheme with just decals saying 2000 on the radiator cowl. The 3000 had an 8 speed box, double acting draft control, flow control adjustment and a blue and white body work colour scheme.

Live PTO was an extra on the 2000 but standard on the 3000, single category 1 link arms were standard on the 2000.

A CAV DPA pump was standard on the 2000 with a Simms inline pump on the 3000 but due to delivery problems early in the production some 3000s came out with the DPA.

I have taken these few differences from my copy of the Ford Tractor "Confidential" Sales Handbook of 1966.

I have come across anomalies in British Ford and Fordson tractors in the US with the earlier model Dextas being fitted with Super Dexta tin work and sold as such from new.
