Fordson Dexta Hydraulics

I was plowing with my Dexta and noticed the lift was starting to become slow... I took it back to the barn and then noticed a leak. I added more fluid to ensure that was the issue before tearing into it but even when full they continue to be slow and weak. I would assume it s due to the leak at the gasket and not being able to build pressure but I am unsure as to what I will get into when I remove the top piece. I tried to look through the manual however it looks different than mine. Pictures are attached. Thanks in advance for all help and ideas. Also this is my first post and I m glad I found this forum as it seems everyone is knowledgeable and enjoys the tractors!

Looks like the O ring between the cover and rear end housing is blown. It may have a quad ring, but O rings work.

There is no big problem in removing the top cover, just remember it is heavy and you need
to keep the arms lowered and lift the rear first to get the con. rod housing out from
under the axle housing.

The pictures show the top cover with the ram cylinder removed but it should give you a
little idea of what you face. You will not need to take the cylinder off unless you want
to replace the seal whilst you are in there.

The second picture shows the Position Control cam and follower pin. These pins wear and
will affect the operation of the lift so it is a good idea to check this whilst you are
in there.

It seems these are the 2 Orings you are talking about... it s clear they need replacing now that I ve opened it up. I m sure this will stop the leak out of the side but before I put it back together would that cause the lift to be weak and not lift? Is there anything else I should replace or check that would cause that?

My brother just went through his. He found a lot of sludge that blocked the intake and needed cleaning out.
