Power Major oil pan

My Power Major has a fairly quick leak coming from the oil pan seal, and another coming from the bottom of the timing cover. I was thinking of pulling the oil pan and resealing it but It looks like a structural component and I heard that the crank sits on it. So should I know anything before I pull it off and reseal it? I was also wondering where I could find the seals I would need to finish the job.

Thanks,
Jonah

The pan is a structural component, but you can pull it with no negative effects. They are heavy as hell, I suggest that you place a floor
jack under the lower sump, and support the front by hand when you break it loose. I used to leave a couple bolts in by about 4 threads until
I broke it loose, and leave the jack just under it, because sometimes you need to drive a putty knife into the gasket space. Use guide bolts
when you put it back on, makes it a lot easier. When you remove the timing cover, keep track of which bolts come from where, if I remember
correctly there are some SAE and some USS threads. It's been 40 years since I had a timing cover off. You can probably get gaskets and
seals from YT.
