How to access Hydraulic Lift Position control Pin

The Hydraulic Lift stoped working entirely on my 1959 Fordson Dexta. The lift was partially working the
last couple of years, and ?Majorman? had recommended that the issue was related to Position control
pin being worn.

Looking for information on how to remove the cover under the seat to access the Hydraulic Lift system.
Need to know how to reassemble the system to access the Position control Pin?

You have got to lift the lift off, keep the arms lowered and lift the housing up slightly and back to allow the linkage to clear. Be careful, you have slackened off the ram cylinder retaining bolts, the ones inside the outer ring of bolts at the front. You may need the ram cylinder off to get to the linkage a bit easier,there is another ram cylinder retaining bolt under the Auxiliary Service Plate at the front of the lift.

You may need to strip the linkage out, this will mean removing the lift lever and quadrant, the flat link and possibly the external draft control spring and linkage. I have managed to do this job by just taking off the flat link and tilting the position control linkage forward to get at the pin.

The pin you are after is this one. Usually it will be worn nearly through.
 
Did you use a gasket for the hydraulic lift lid, when you put it back together, or something like permatex gasket maker ?
I am in the US and cannot find a gasket in stock for my 62 power major.

Yes, a sealer such as Ultra Black will work fine.
