Dexta Tire Size Questions

I'm looking for/asking for opinion on rear tires for my Dexta. Currently this tractor has 12.4-28's on it... But I got wider taller tires for the front, and looking at possibly getting the same for the back. I like the look of 14.9-28's. But I'm wondering if its going to make that much of difference to be worth it on the taller and wider tires. Is there a tire size that would be just wider instead of wider and taller? Anyone's experience or opinion is greatly appreciated! :D

One of the Dextas I have has 14.9 x 24 inch tires on the rear. They are old, flat and torn. I have some 28 inch wheels and tires to replace them.

I cannot really tell you. I bought the tractor with the tires bad and the engine stuck. It has been that way for a long time. I have not had the time to fix either the tires or the engine. All I know is that this is the way the tractor was outfitted 20+ years ago and sat in a building that long after the cover was left off the exhaust.

I looked up the dimensions on Tractor Data and all they mentioned was 12.4x28 inch tires. That does not mean that 24 inch tires could have been an option.

I had gotten new 13.6 x 28 Titan tires at an auction with the discs., but have not put them on yet to move the tractor. (tow)

Dad traded for a Dexta back in 66, it had 6.00-16 fronts and 12.4-28 rears. We put 6.50-16s on the front later but never replaced the rears.
I always thought it would look better with 13.6-28's on the rear, 14,9-28's are a little wide for those 11" rims. 14.9-28's look good on my 801's 12" rims.
A neighbor has dad's old Dexta, only tractor he has.
