I recently purchased a restored Super Dexta, but I'm trying to figure out the year and whether its a SD or a New Performance SD. Also, I have noticed that the gears grind when shifting from neutral after I have driven it for a bit. For example, i'll be in 2nd low, park the tractor and shift into neutral for 5 mins or so while engine is still running at idle, then when i press the clutch and try to shift into any gear, it will grind badly. Any thoughts?

I have a 59 Dexta that does the same thing, grinding after shifting to neutral for a short while but if I engage the secondary clutch (stop the PTO) it does not grind. SO i guess the motion of the oil from the secondary shaft is spinning the gears. I installed a new clutch last year, had no cut off on PTO before new clutch.

Thanks. I have tried pressing clutch all the way to disengage
the pto and it still grinds. Hoping I don't have to install a new
clutch.

Look at the injection pump. If it is a p4696 minimec it should be a New Performance Super Dexta. I think the Super Dexta had the P4588 minimec.
