Fordson F Newbie 5 Questions for the Experts

Bought a 1925 Fordson F earlier this year. Has a later engine (English made 4.125" bore) with an impulse magneto. Want to do a refurbishment of the tractor. Have already disassembled it, removed cyl head and crankcase, dash, radiator, shifter, etc. etc. So here are my questions. 1) Are there any workshop manuals or books for the Fordson F like the I.T. shop service manual I have for my 2N?. Any recommended repair manuals? I have the 1925 Fordson Tractor Manual, but need more. 2) I want to have the impulse magneto serviced, i.e. tested, replace points and rotor, etc. Anyone have any recommendations on who I can send this out to for a service? 3) What is the correct engine oil and trans fluid for these early Fordsons. As there is no hydraulic pump like in my 2N, I should probably use a different transmission fluid? 4) I want to use this tractor primarily for stationary use, i.e. for a back up generator, wood splitter, etc. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket conversion that provides me a modern splined PTO to fit this tractor? 5) Finally, I am having a problem removing the valve springs. I made a spring lifter that works but I cant seem to remove the retainer or spring on this late model engine. Do I need to push back, pry down, twist, or do what to the retainer to be able to remove the spring? Thanks a lot everyone, I really do appreciate your effort in helping me get this right, Larry.

You should join a tractor club in your area. They will be able to point out the
different places to get parts or repairs. See some tractor magazines. Join a Ford/Fordson
Tractor Club.

I would consider using special Worm Gear oil in the rear-end. You can buy it at a major brand tractor company.

Please ignore what I said about worm gear oil. It may be nice for the worm
gear, but probably not so good for the clutch plates and engine internals.

I would use a sae 30 wt for engine , I use the Deisel cause it has more zinc additive.
The the differential uses a Mobil 600w stream cylinder oil. Very thick . About a hundred dollars a pail. Don't use sae 85-140 at cause it has sulphur in it . That tear up the brass gears .
If got my manuals from SSB tractor in farmingvile New York
