Any suggestions on where the location of the level plug? My best guess is this allen head bolt where the red arrow points. I filled the required oil with an extra 2 quarts and nothing as come out yet so I am still unsure if this is the right one. I have searched far and wide on the internet. I have ordered shop manual, operators manual and this tractor does not have the same plug as most other fords do. Any wisdom for experience out there? Thanks so much.

Thanks for your help. UPDATE - I filled for a total of 48 quarts and oil did come out from that plug when topped off. So not sure why the manual indicated 34, but you re right it took 48. Thanks again for stepping in to help and thankful this was solved. Take care.

I don t know what the hand brake has to do with the difference but older models held around 32-34 qrts. Later models like yours have higher gpm hydraulic pump and sump capacity was increased by raising the oil level and moving the check plug
If yours has the external hydraulic filter under the left foot board that allen plug is most likely the check plug

Early model check plug was on the hydraulic pump here the dimple is on yours

You can see how much higher the later model check plugs are located

Thanks for asking. I put 37 quarts in. Manual says it takes 34 without the emergency handbrake or 48 quarts (12 gallons) with the emergency handbrake. I do not have the handbrake so I was shooting for the 34. But heck, it might be set up for one and I don t even know. What do you think? Do you believe that allen head bolt is the level plug? If so, I ll keep going until it comes out. Also, I didn t have the lift arms in the lowered position when I drained and filled as the manual suggests so don t know if that changes the amount.
