How do you Replace the o-rings on the 2 oil tubes that go to the rocker arms on the valve train?

Where can I buy the o-rings?

Not oring . The supply tube has a sealing ring (square profile) on the lower end. No seal on the top where it enters the rocker support. The naa Im working on had all the oil holes in the rocker shaft plugged with 70 years of crud. Had to completely disassemble the rocker shaft and remove the plugs from each end to properly clean it. The sealing ring for the supply tube was in my gasket kit.

Thanks for your post. Everyone on Tractor talk kept telling me everything is normal, don't make a mountain out of a molehill, just run the snot out of it.

I have rust on my push rods. That tells me lack of oil.
If I followed their advice and did nothing, I can see lifters and cam failure.

I just had to buy a couple to put the head back on my 950. Cost $2.92 each.

Parts catalog only shows and lists a quantity of ONE, Key #37, at the bottom end of the supply tube (likely visible behind the ''tappet cover'' on the side of the block), #EAA6594A (a ''square cut packing'').

Third Party Image

Probably none used at the top, and the other ''overflow/return line'' sure wouldn't need one. Or, are there a couple hiding there???

If no FIAT/dba CNH dealer nearby, your very favorite place on the whole earth/'net has them.

''overflow/return line''
Are you saying the front tube is the supply like and the back tube is the return line?
That would explain a lot.

Andy,
I've been exchanging emails with Old Richard.

He was the first person to tell me my valve train should not be dripping oil, but the oil should be flowing at a small steady stream and I should check the O-ring.

Thanks for all your help, the diagrams and where I can buy the O-ring.

IF the oil comes in at the front of the engine and exits from the rear the engine, that will explain why the last valve, exhaust valve for #4 cylinder was stuck open..no oil was making it way to #4.

The lack of a good flow of oil on top of the head will also explain why what little oil on top of the head looks like milk.

I think we figured what caused the #4 exhaust valve to stick open. My money says once I get the oil flowing at the right rate, the milky oil on the top of the head will be washed to the crankcase and settle in the bottom of the crankcase.

Thank you, thank you.
AND A BIG THANKS TO OLD!!
