I have a 1961 Ford 961 wide front end with original style wheel weights on both rear tires. I have some hills that I have to mow. Is any company making ROPS for this tractor? Thanks!

The S in ROPS stands for System. The system includes the seat with lap belt.

One more thing about the ROPS is you need a solid seat with a good seatbelt or you'll get mashed anyway.

If this comes up as a question for others, here is some info from a Kentucky state site.

It looks like there are 3 manufacturers of these roll over frames?

Randy I will give you credit for having enough smarts to know where you can go with your 960. What Sean posted.

ROPS only work after you have tipped your tractor over and messed it all up!!! I like the previous suggestion that you tell the wife you another tractor!!!

The National Tractor Safety Coalition runs a nationwide ROPS program for tractors without ROPS. How it works , as well as availability, varies from state to state. Check out the site at the link below and plug in your information to see if your tractor might qualify.

Agree with Wore Out. That's a row crop tractor.

Tell your wife it's too dangerous and you need a new tractor for cutting those hills. In the 70's and 80's Ford made several sizes of Low Center Gravity tractors just for such problems.

IMHO, if the slope is so steep you are scared of it with a wide front and wheel weights you should reevaluate the need to mow it and/or look at alternative means of vegetation control.
