Brush Hogs are usually 5' but a 6' will work fine on a FORD 3000. The N's were designed to pull a 5' or 6' mower and the Hundred Series could pull a 7' cutter so a 3000 3-CYL Diesel wouldn't break a sweat. Rated 40 hp, a 3000 can pull a 3-Bottom Plow. Just to clarify, BUSH HOG is a brand name; BRUSH HOG is the right term with the correct term being a Rotary Mower. Be sure your mower has the stump jumper feature. If hogging old undergrowth, best to walk the property first for signs of old logs, refrigerators, cars, big rocks/boulders, and Jimmy Hoffa. May need to make two passes if weeds are really high.

Yes, in most conditions if you do not plan to cut heavy grass closely and at high speed.

Should have mentioned if equipped with 4X2 transmission, rather than 4 speed, which is geared very high, limiting usefulness.
