One armed loader update

Evening all, Seems I read a discussion here a while back on updating a loader to a quick attach system. I'd thought I'd add show a few pics of my setup. It's the john deere style hook and pin style because I have a newer 40 horse JD, this way they can share attachments. I used the fully hydraulic version of the 711 loader to still be able to run the half tracks in the winter, and the weight on the left side offsets the saw which hangs off the right side. The loader is also plumbed for a 3rd function to operate the slide mechanism on the saw. The tractor is a backup unit for the John Deere in my limb trimming business. Half tracks work well for logging roads in the winter. The switch was relatively easy, using most of the original components. I'll add a few more pictures below.

Nice unit. I put a skid steer quick attach on my one arm loader. I have a material bucket and pallet forks. How are you powering the loader? Tractor hydraulics or separate pump?

Husker,
Im using the tractor hydraulics, every one says they are slow, but that's what I want for this application, especially with using the forks. I'm not loading dirt
or manure with it, so I'm good with the speed. Have a 4 valve bank mounted on the fender so I have 2 sets of remote hydraulics on the back. The third function is
plumbed into one of the rear remotes so I can use one or the other. I have an offset flail mower I use behind it, and the tractor hydraulics run it just fine.

Beautiful machine!
Did you paint it? If so, would you please share what you used?
Will be painting a 62 4000 in the next 6 months, hopefully, and that looks scheme looks perfect!

Tractordad3, I sure would. I painted it myself outside this fall. I used to paint in the shop, but as I get older the overspray gets everywhere, even with a makeshift spray booth. I'm not sure where you are, but the paint came from my local Fleet Farm. Its just their tractor and implement paint. I really liked the color match too. I've painted several tractors with their paint and have always been happy with it. It's by no means automotive quality, but neither was the original paint they used 60 years ago. I always use their hardener with the paint, and highly recommend using it. If you do, be sure to wear a respirator, or some sort of protection, even if painting outside. The paint job and body work aren't perfect, but it gets beat up using it in the woods. All in all, I'm happy with the paints outcome.

It looks excellent from my seat, nice work and thank you for sharing. I am familiar with Fleet Farm growing up in the Twin Cities, but now I live in Golden CO and definitely miss it. Maybe my folks will drive some out when they see the Grandkids.
Did you use a spray cup system or roll on? Ive never used anything other than rattle cans in a garage booth. I have a 62 961 I have to do first. Should I give a different method a try?
I absolutely wear respirators - reusable and cartridges. Sorry for taking over your post

Tractordad3, Don't worry about taking over the post, I appreciate your interest. Just used a cheap HVLP spray gun, you can pick them up relatively cheap at Fleet Farm or places like Harbor Freight. A small compressor with a filter/regulator is all you will need and the results are worth it. Something to think about is the cost of spray cans versus a gallon of paint. I think a spray can of that paint is around $11.00, a quart was $26.00 and a gallon was $55.00. You'll get a way nicer finish with the spray gun, and its not hard to do. Just have some cardboard around to practice on, or paint areas like the inside of the fenders to get the feel for it. Remember, runs can be sanded out, you're the only one that needs to be happy with it. Also back then they came from the factory with some runs and imperfect spots. You maybe able to have the paint shipped to you, check their website.

A '62 4000 was only available as an Industrial model, and was red and grey originally
