A tale of two filters

I recently had two new fuel taps in my hand for '65-up tractors. One is an el-cheapo from Amazon, the other
is from NH. Notice the difference in mesh sizes for the screens. The one with the coarse screen is from
NH.

I suspect the one with the fine screen would plug up in a heartbeat if there was any kind of contamination
in the tank. Keep this in mind if you purchase an aftermarket fuel tap.

I'm more interested in what looks to be crooked threads on that top valve...

Maybe it's just the picture and my crooked eyes?

The threads are crooked on the el-cheapo valve, which is why I went to NH to get an OEM one. I spilled a little fuel on the floor trying to get the first one in!

Not a big difference in surface area really.

My big problem with the fine one is that it will plug up quickly, whereas the other one will let the fine contaminants pass and allow the fuel filter to do what it's supposed to do.
