Ford 850 3 hydraulic point and lift issue?

Hi, I have a 1957 Ford 850. In the winter the 3 point system takes several minutes after the tractor starts before I get any
movement in the system. Once it starts and operates when the tractor is warm the system works fine, but it does hiccup a bit and
will leak down relatively quickly. My Jubilee has instantaneous response in the system even on the coldest days and does not
hiccup or leak down, but I did replace the o rings on the lift cylinder several years ago with the rubber ring and leather
washer. I suspect the leak down in the 850 is from the need for new ring system in the lift cylinder. Is there some way to test
the pump on the 850 for a leak or low pressure, or should I just rebuild the pump?

Thanks for any advice

I think you have two issues.. one is getting the pump to prime,, and the other is the lift cyl leaking down and hiccuping..

On the waiting for pump to prime or pickup pressure,,, could be a leak in the suction line somewhere and/or a worn pump.

And either or a worn piston/ ring on the lift cyl and a worn control valve... where I would check the lift cyl first and rebuild it and check its cyl for scaring..

Great. Thanks. I will check the lift cylinder and install new rings and make sure that everything is smooth and clean. That should resolve the leak down issue I believe. The unit has a remote on the top plate for a front mounted snow plow that has since been removed and sold. I will check for a leak someplace as well for the lose of prime.
