New trailer

After decades of used trailers, I finally treated myself to a new trailer. 14,000lb. 20 footer. As soon as I got it home, installed a low side step and grab pole so as not to have to crawl up to mount the tractors. Also rock shields for the front.

Just a year ago I would have poo-pooed the idea of a step and grab bar. Today I would add a horizontal handle to the bar, LOL.

Nice.
NOW, you are about to find out exactly how many trailer-less friends and relatives who need to move something 20+ ft. long you have.

The only other problem Ive had with a brand-new trailer is that now you'll be constantly looking at tractors for sale in a ever expanding search area just so you
can use it to haul them back home!

Those are helpful accessories youve added, but now youre gonna need a winch and a tongue-mounted toolbox, more and bigger brake lights, stake pocket ''D'' rings,
and, and...

That's a good trailer. My neighbor drove from north of Stlouis to Seneca Mo. to get one. There're comparable
to a Trailerman or Maclander.

Very nice trailer, I have been thinking of one myself. I was wondering if anyone in the know, knows if electric or surge brakes are preferable? I have had a trailer with electric brakes but also notice UHaul and a lot of others use surge brakes. I am sure with the wide variety of vehicles pulling their trailers surge brakes are preferable. I am just interested in which work better. Sorry if this is not the place to ask this question. Thanks.

gblj - I got the side step in a box of junk from an auction but google "cast folding step" and you'll see a zillion.
charlie n - Purchased this just east of St. James, MO. Brian's Farm Equipment. Good guy.
504 - None of my business but a 26 foot deckover will weigh 5000 pounds which only leaves you 7000 pounds capacity with two 6000 axles. I just sold my 12,000 lb. trailer to make sure I had capacity.
