Exhaust conversion

Would someone, with a 3 cyl. 2000/3000 with through the hood vertical exhaust, give me the measurements from the front, rear, lower edge and
center of the hood, for the hole. I'm converting one with a down flow, to vertical, for a friend, and would like to do it right. Thanks in
advance.

I believe I would mount the new exhaust with the hood off and measure carefully to the front side and rear for an accurate location. I would not use dimensions offered due to possible mismeasurements or factory differences. My '66 Basildon built diesel 2000 could be different from your late gas 3000.

Vertical exhaust hoods have the raised ridge around the hole to prevent water from running down on top of the engine
I would search for a vertical exhaust hood panel to replace the one you have
You could sell you present hood panel as they are harder to find and desired by those who want horizontal exhaust

If you do decide to cut you hood stick a short piece of pipe in the manifold that bearing fits under the hood, install the hood panel and trace the pipes position onto the bottom of the panel
The factory hole is slightly larger than the extension pipes bell that fits over the manifold
