Ford 2000 PTO Lever

Asking for a neighbor. If parked on level ground there shouldn't be any oil coming up to the PTO lever should there?
He's got a leaking coming from the shaft that goes into the housing.
He said the tractor is parked on a slight incline with the front being lower than the back.

Sa Shawn says.
But remember, always tell us whether you
have a 62-64 four cylinder 2000 or a 65 to
75 three cylinder 2000.
In this case fix on that leak may be
similar but in most other ways they are
Very different machines.

It's a 2000 3cyl. diesel.
Is it a simple matter of removing the lever, then removing the cover plate and replacing the "0" ring?
Will the rod stay in place while this is done?

He said it's the shaft that's leaking, so it's the "0" ring.
Can someone give me a working link on the CHN website so I can see what that area looks like.
The URL that I'm trying with doesn't work.

Thanks, looks simple enough, he can do that himself, don't even have to pull the cover off.
