I have a diesel 532 with no PTO, and a gear drive gas 3600 that I may part out. Would it be possible to swap the PTO setup from the 3600 onto the 532? If so, what would it take? TIA

No, the 3600 has the single reduction rear axle with outboard dry brakes and the 532 has the double reduction rear axle with the inboard wet brakes. The rear axle center housings are not the same and the PTO setups between them, even if they have the same transmission, are not the same. The best you could do would be to swap the entire rear halves of the tractors, from the flywheel back, but even that probably wouldn't work for the 3600 because the 532's transmission case probably doesn't have the bosses for the radius rod mounts. Since you're parting out the 3600, then you could swap out the rear half as long as the transmission and rear axle are good on the 3600, and you would need to bring along the engine mounted hydraulic pump as well for the 3 point lift if you want that to continue functioning.

Does the 532 have 3 point lift, if so is the hydraulic pump on the left side of the engine or in the right side of the axle housing near back of the foot board
If not 3 point lift there are no components in the clutch, trans or axle to operate a pto, 3600 pto is completely different and will not work, 3600 trans will fit your 532 but the input shaft gearing is different and will cause the 532 to operate at a fraction of it's present speed
If the 532 has 3 point with the hyd pump in the axle housing pto can be added but the needed components will have to come from a 4000, 4600 chassis
If 3 point hyd pump is on the side of the engine you'll need a transmission and rear axle from a 4600 to swap onto your tractor

Small point but I'm pretty sure that after
1975 All of the 3 cylinder transmissions
had the castings - and machining done - for
radius rods. They also had the holes
drilled in the lower front part of the bell
housing for using the cast iron pan which
many of the pre 76 trannys did not have.

If it doesn't have a PTO, and it does have a 3 point lift, then it would have the engine mounted pump, not the one in the center housing. The one in the center housing was only used for tractors that left the factory with independent PTO.
