3400 Industrial

Hi Folks,

A 3400 Industrial model is up for auction locally. It's a gasser and looks OK to rough. I see this grease buildup under the dash. What do you suppose created this?

Could be that someone just spilled something there and never cleaned it up and it collected dirt over time. Or it could be from a leak in the power steering. Depending on how long it's been sitting prior to going to auction, the dirt build up might not mean that whatever caused that is no longer leaking if it's been sitting and not running for a long time, but if has been run recently, then that dirt looks old enough that it didn't leak the last time it was run. No way to know for sure though without starting it up prior to bidding on it.

Common sight on a tractor that has been worked hard and not cleaned fairly often.
