Snow storm, power outage

TW35 might be overkill on a 40 kw generator, but I still haven't gotten around to the injection pump on the 7000, and I have the 7600 running the 25 kw generator at my parents' place. Power is out across most of the county, and at least part of the county north of us.

Luke and I have been plowing snow for a couple hours - him with his 4000 and a back blade, me with the 4600 and loader. More to do, but taking a break.

Are you north of me half a state? Been troubles up there.

Are you set up with 1000 pto, 560 pto, or running at half throttle?

Paul

Near Ladysmith, WI... an hour north (and a little east) of Eau Claire.
TW is 1000 only; 7000 and 7600 are 540/1000. 25 KW generator is 540,and the 40 KW is 1000.

Hey Mark,

I haven't been here for a while, but we're FB friends so I've seen some of your story there. I see the following "old" fellas haven't posted in a while, didn't know if you had the "skinny" on anybody?

souNdguy (3+ years)
LarryNCKS (almost a year)

Chris

PS - Hopefully you've got power back or will shortly, love you still farming with the blue steel!

Dont know about souNdguy. I may still have his email... may have to drop him a line.
Sadly, Larry passed away about a year ago, rather suddenly.
No power here yet. Just ran to town for more diesel. Branches and tree tops on
the power lines EVERYWHERE! One crew was working about 3 miles from me... so they're getting closer.
Yep, still running Blue, and intend to
keep it that way. Mine are all paid for, and just 4 1/2 years on the mortgage, so not looking too bad, that way.

Dang, I never got to meet Larry and he was certainly one of the SOS gurus. He provided wonderful help and advise. I hope Chris (sounNdguy) is alright, but can t imagine he just quit posting unless there were serious life changes.

Good luck with the power, we were w/o for 7 days the first winter after moving my wife out to the country. You seem pretty well prepared.

Chris

Sorry to hear about Larry, he will be missed. However, thank you for letting me know. Please take care all, it's a wild world out there.

Sound guy was usually my go to on any thing I was having a problem with.
I could post something in the morning hours, and usually he'd reply within an hour. Bailed me out more than once.

It's a mess here, in West Central MN, too. We have been lucky that there have been no power outages here, but as of this morning about 30,000 people were without power just north east of us from Brainard to Duluth.

Stay safe!

Colin

Power is back on! Right about 60 hours after it went out.
A big thank you to the crews working to get things back up and running. I know locally, we had guys from Minnesota and Michigan, besides our local crews.

Thanks for passing along the info on Larry. I had been missing him myself, with the exception of his April Fools pranks. I fell victim more than once to that.

I hadn't heard about Larry either; but I've had a wild couple of years personally. I took my first SOS to him once and in 45 minutes he had it purring. He was a great defender of the SOS. I'll miss him.
