On my 1966 2000 3 cyl. gas Tractor there is a protective tube in the left fender to feed 12 volts to a Work Light. There a 3 holes in the fender. They appear to be factory. Does anyone know what Work Light fixture mounts here? Where can I get one with all the hardware?

On our 58 641 the read taillight mounts up top, where
those holes are. The work light mounts down, about
where your SMV sign is mounted.

My '73 4000 has the rear red light mounted up there also. It has a push button switch at the bottom of the housing covered in rubber for waterproofing that operates a flasher for the light that is inside the light housing. I don't know if that was factory or was added later, but it was originally a state highway mower, so I assume that it's been there since it was first used, whether installed by the factory or by the highway department.

Sean - Does it look anything like this photo? This is our
73 4000SU. It has the push button switch on the base of
the yellow light, but no switch on the red. I too do not
factually know what was original, or added later.

Steve, mine looks more like the red one in your picture than the yellow one, in terms of the mounting bracket and location.

On a tractor the taillight was always to be mounted on the LEFT fender as per FED regulations. Headlights wer standard equipment on tractors after the 800 Series but
taillights and the worklight were always optional dealer accessories. FORD fenders had punchouts for mounting fender brackets.
