Ford 2000 3cyl diesel ignition wiring

Im trying to wire a 5 position switch so that I do not burn up
the tractor with the thermostart feature.

The terminals are wired 1-5. Am I right in assuming that 1 is
the run position with power to the instrument panel and
lights. 2 would be the thermostart. 3 would be power to
starter solenoid. The manual is a bit fuzzy on where the
wires go on a 5 position switch.

Thank you.

Maybe this will be useful.

Tim, you are very helpful to post those pictures, but you posted two schematics for pre-1965 tractors and one for the actual 1965-1975 tractor that is being asked about, which can sometimes add more confusion than clarification if the person asking doesn't know as much about the various changes of Ford tractor models over the years as some of us do.

Yes, Sean, I realized that after I posted but this site doesn't offer any editing so couldn't alter. Thanks for the clarification and you too always have good,
informative information as well.

Tim, I don't use Classic View much, so I don't know about there, but Modern View started allowing yuo to edit your posts several months ago.
