TW-5 Thermostart

Hello
Wanting to add Thermostart to my TW-5 thats never had it, had ether start at one time, I assume the port in the intake tube is the same size. Installation should be straight forward, I’ll use the ether bottom thru a solenoid for the heat. Where would the tee in the return line be located? It already has one behind the upper fuel tank, going to the upper tank, lower tank and injector return.
Thanks in advance.

There should be a plug in the intake manifold where the thermostart would install, between the rubber intake hose coming form the air filter and the where the turn going to the first cylinder splits off. If yours doesn't have that plug then you should be able to find an intake manifold at a salvage yard that does.

Yes, a Tee in the return line should be used to provide the fuel to the thermostart.

I don't think that you need a relay if you have a separate terminal on the key switch for the thermostart. If you don't, a replacement key switch that does should be available fairly inexpensively.

After more research it appears that the TW s and the 30 series had a steel fuel line that went from the fuel filter housing to the igniter, with a check valve. Value is available tubing is not. Maybe I need to invest into steel tubing tools or maybe malleable brake line. Thanks
