ford 640 9inch clutch

I have installed my new 640 9 inch 10 splined clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and return springs. After reassembling the two half together i find that i have no feeling of any resistance to the clutch petal only that of the return springs. can anyone suggest what i might have done wrong. I will be re splitting the tractor again this morning

Well, for starters it sounds like you failed to measure in from the bell housing mating surface to the flywheel surface and out to the release bearing surface from the transmission mating surface to see where they were going to come. This can save a lot of time.

Did you put the clutch disk in the correct way?? It can be installed 2 ways one way is correct the other is not and can cause the problem you have
