Ford 335 crankcase breather tube

Hey guys I just recently purchased a 1977 335 Loader backhoe. The tractor did not come with a crankcase breather tube,I own a 2000 and 4000 gas tractors, this 335 is diesel.Question is the gas motors have the tube installed running down the tractors left,I also own a 340b it has the tube running down the right side of the motor. Is the orientation because of the motor being gas or diesel.I found a used tractor parts dismanteller who has a 3600 which I understand is the AG equivelent of the 335 utility.I'm really trying to get this tractor squared away so it can live outside untill my new shop gets built. So I guess I'm asking if the diesels all have the breather tubes on the right. Thanks for any and all help.

Top radiator hose on the gas engine interfered with the right side vent that the diesel had
That said you can use either one on a diesel
My 4000 was originally gas but I converted it to diesel in the early 90 s
It still has the gas left side vent tube, it bolts to the fan shroud helping stabilize the radiator and is not in the way if I have to remove the inj pump drive cover on the front of the engine
The right side diesel tube is easier to install
