Different battery
I change the points put in a heavy duty coil new rotor new cap new condenser and I have a new 6 V battery on it the battery dont seem to turn the motor over very fast but eventually it will start ,I keep the bat. At full charge, and I ran it for a half an hour normal oil pressure And run very nice but each time I go to start it the battery dont seem to wanna turn it over. Would there be any harm in going to a 12 V battery and what would I have to change if anything or is there something else I need to look at? This is the old buzzard again Jack

Not sure what tractor it is. The title of your thread says D14, but I've never heard of a Ford or New Holland D14.

If it is a 6 volt system then at the least you would need to replace the charging circuit with a 12 volt charging system when you switch to a 12 volt battery, and replace any 6 volt light bulbs with 12 volt bulbs. If it's a gasoline engine with points, condensor and coil then you will need to either switch to a 12 volt coil or add a ballast resistor to the 6 volt coil. I am not familiar with that tractor model so there are likely other things that might not work properly with 12 volts, like possibly gauges and any other auxiliary electrical items.
