Balancer gear broke and damaged the crank gear
Has anyone run without the balancer by blocking the oil passage or should I replace the crank and balancer
I know the old hundred series people would leave the balancer out

When the 5000 series first came out, they had a habit of knocking out the balance gears, and damaging the crank gear. We had a fleet of
Majors, and 5000s that were leased for pulling green pea combines in the summer, and to farms in the winter. If they went bad, we removed
the balance gears, and ran them. I don't remember it ever causing a problem.
